We were visiting the area, and stopped in for dinner. It's a little hard to find, as at first the building looks uninhabited, but you just have to go in through an empty room and down the stairs. Delicious fried ravioli and tomato soup.
When the weather permits, this is an excellent choice for outdoor dining. I was served a late lunch next to this delightful, although probably mostly uninhabitable, pond next to the tables. The natural entertainment was mostly frogs and dragonflies.
The American wheat white bread in my sandwich actually had flavor, which is a kudos to American wheat-based bread these days. The service was excellent although a bit slow, as there were only 4 people dining. The chicken in my sandwich was moist and succulent, as promised by my server, who had recommended her favorite.
A group of us has been going to the Bistro every Sunday morning for breakfast for the past three weeks. The food is generous and excellent and the staff is very friendly. Everything that any of us has ordered has been superb and we have had plenty left over to bring home for the next day's breakfast. Try the homemade biscuits. Yummy. The eggs were cooked just right and the potatoes were crispy, just like I like them. I don't know how many eggs are in each omelet or scramble but they are huge. These are new owners of the Bistro and we hope they are very successful as the value is excellent. Our Eggs Benedict connoisseur friend thinks they are the best he's ever had!
We also had dinner there one night and again everything was great and we had food to bring home. Wednesday evening there is bingo in the bar. Lots of fun and there are prizes.
Changed management in August 2018 or so and it's not very impressive. The service and people were great! The margaritas were very weak and the food wasn't anything great. The seafood cioppino wasn't "brothy" like normal and didnt have a lot of seafood in it. The BLT was on a hoagie style roll which was too much bread for that kind of sandwich. The pulled pork was bland, no flavor.
Not a lot of variety if you are a vegetarian or someone that doesn't like seafood or beef, couple chicken options.
There web site isn't up to date since they changed management and reality from the website is very different.
We had a belated Valentine's dinner on Saturday. First time trying the restaurant side and was pleasantly surprised. Pork was very good and the chicken piccata was excellent. Generous portions with flavorful sides. Reasonably priced for the quality and portion size. We shared a salad, two entrees, drinks for ~ $ 66 and even had some left over to take home. Best food we've found in the Belfair/Allyn area. Service was friendly and prompt and the new mangers are doing a great job. We will be regulars.
